lee_alexanderLee Alexander was “putting on a show” at a very young age competing regionally in soccer, swimming, crew and performing in local theater productions during College. She was an avid reader of biographies. One in particular would catch Alexander’s interest…David Brown’s Let Me Entertain You which changed her life’s trajectory, propelling her towards New York City.

She soon landed at The International Council of NATAS attending television markets worldwide while creating forums around top International TV movers and shakers. Within six years she had risen to General Manager & Executive Producer of the International Emmy Awards.

The next life shift happened when ABC News found her. Alexander was a 2nd director on a low budget horror movie filming in South Hampton when she got the call. “I recall my soon-to-be boss, Bill saying, ‘As soon as you’re done with the circus, come join us’. She stayed 11 years at ABC News. The most formative time was producing for Good Morning America, pumping out daily shows and specials in studio and around the globe.

While at ABC her eldest brother, Robert Alexander (who was a stay at home dad) wrote a book. Their family had pitched in with editing duties, but he still needed an agent. Alexander called in favors and finally got a nibble. But when that agent moved on, Alexander asked for the contact ‘list’ of publishers who hadn’t said ‘no,’ to which she hand-carried the books to those houses in NYC. Shortly after, UNFAMILIAR MAGIC (Random House, 2010) was born. The book was featured among the ‘Best Of’ Pick’s on Good Morning America.

Says Alexander: “I’m on to the next chapter of career & life working on various PR and Social Media projects from my fiancé’s agritainment farm Barton Orchards in upstate New York while continuing to moonlight as Ryan Seacrest’s Producer every ‘New Year’s Rockin Eve’ from Time Square”.
